What is a Puff Bar?
The Puff Bar ‘s been around for a long time. In the early 20th century, the idea of the Puff Bar was devised by way of a man named Richard C. Laramy. This bar stool was designed to make it easier for people to smoke. These were not the initial “pipe” style smoking devices though. Prior to the creation of the Puff Bar, smokers had to either take a seat on the ground of a smoky bar or stand up in front of a dirty grill.
In the past, whatever you did to smoke was inhaled through the mouth and blow into the air as if you were Disposable Vape blowing out birthday candles. There was really no other method. Smoking became popular and smokers tried to find new ways to take action. Soon, smokers started using hinged, revolving devices that could let them smoke without having to sit back.
The initial devices came later on. They would rotate when you took a drag. The unit eventually evolved in to the modern puff machine we realize today. The initial models were probably made out of brass or steel and were mounted on bars set in the brick or stone abode.
Eventually, these evolved into a contraption referred to as a hookah. Hookah’s are installed to your bathroom sink. Inside there is a water tube. The water fills up the tube and forces a constant stream of water through the hookah.
Eventually, someone made a decision to attach the bar to a thing that was outside. This would prevent smoke from entering your house. These contraptions soon evolved in to the modern-day bar and smokers could now sit down and enjoy a smoke while they were working. Before the invention of the Puff Bar, this would not have been possible.
How the Puff Bar came into being is shrouded in mystery. Some say that the inspiration came from an army officer named Captain William Blunt. When he was stationed at the Western Front, the weather was cold and he wanted something warm to sit in. He might have looked at an old stove or something similar. One day, he took some materials and fashioned a Puff Bar out of these.
The first bar that Blunt ever designed was considered by some to be crudely fashioned. It did not have a design that could allow people to smoke. This bar would not have the temperature controls that a smoker would need to use. It would not need the design that would allow smokers to pack their own cigarettes. The problem with this particular initial bar was that it could take a whole evening for somebody to make a single plate of cigarettes.
As time continued, the idea for the modern-day bar evolved. It was no longer necessary to have a chimney so that you can smoke. People were in a position to pack their very own cigarettes in tins and put them in the lender books. A smoker could pack his own and take it with him to work.
The initial “smoking room” to be built was not to resemble a bar at all, but rather, an antebellum plantation house. Smokers could go there after their day in the field and relax and smoke. As the use of the smoke pipe became popular, so did the necessity for these items.
Because the use of the smoke pipe evolved, so too did the construction of the tobacco pipe that was needed to smoke. The tobacco pipes were crafted from clay to help keep the smoke from floating away. These were often attached to the end of each bar to help keep the smoking material within its pipe. The initial “tobacco pipes” were made to help cigarette smokers avoid lighting another cigarette on someone else’s cigarette. In this way, they could continue smoking and avoid having the taste of someone else’s cigarette.
The invention of the smoking bar changed all this. Rather than the chimney being attached to the finish of the bar to help keep the smoke pipe from escaping, the bar became the place where all smokers could meet and socialize. This gave rise from what we know today as the “smoker’s club”. All smokers of cigarettes could join together in a standard space and enjoy a nice relaxing smoke while they discussed their day.
Although some people were concerned that the bar was essentially destined to become “smoker’s club”, this didn’t happen. You may still find many places that allow smokers to obtain together and revel in each others company. You can find even places that focus on those that love the smell of burning wood or the sight of a fire. great new spot to spend your Saturday afternoon, look into renting a puff bar. You won’t regret it.
